Objectifs atteints pour smart en 2005
Smart newsbilan smart mcc 2005Quand une année s’achève c’est souvent l’occasion de dresser les bilans. Smart n’échappe pas à la règle. Bien que toujours en quête de rentabilité depuis sa création il y a 8 ans, smart a atteint ses objectifs. Les ventes sont en progression constante et l’année passée ce sont 143.000 unités qui ont été écoulées sur le marché (+2.4 %). Le succès de la smart fortwo reste le principal moteur de cette croissance. Malgré tout, son coût de fabrication reste élevé et grève malheureusement les comptes de la société. Mais un vent de nouveauté souffle sur la firme allemance avec l’arrivée de Dieter Zetsche à la tête de Daimler Chrysler. Dans ce contexte, les rumeurs vont bon train…

Bientôt la nouvelle fortwo

Les chaines de montage alsaciennes sont actuellement fermées pour environ 6 mois afin d’effectuer les adaptations nécessaires à la fabrication de la future fortwo. Cette fois smart n’a pas le droit à l’erreur et ce nouveau modèle se doit de convaincre dès sa sortie. En cas de succès, la filiale de Daimler Chrysler pourrait enfin atteindre le seuil de rentabilité tant attendu. En revanche, l’échec pourrait conduire la marque à chercher de nouveaux partenaires prêt à investir dans le concept, voire dans la pire des hypothèses la maison mère à vendre smart à des repreneurs. Le groupe Goldman Sachs est d’ailleurs actuellement mandaté pour étudier les diverses demandes de reprises émanant d’investisseurs potentiels. L’épée de damoclès plane donc au-dessus de smart… Espérons que le couperet ne tombera pas d’ici 2007…
